About me

I discovered computer graphics in the mid 90s and it’s my passion since then. I’m working professionally as a digital artist over 20 years and before that occasionally I had chance to get few contracts or sell traditional artworks when I was a teenager.

I’m working in vfx industry as a Lead Generalist artist at Industrial Light and Magic. I have contributed in the creation of vfx for movies like Tomorrowland, Star Wars 7,8,9; Dr.Strange , Deepwater Horizon, Avengers age of Ultron, Jurassic World:Fallen Kingdom, Aladdin, Terminator 6 and James Bond No time to die. In this amazing time I’m learning everyday from great artists from around the world. Working in such an environment is inspiring and gives opportunities to work on great movies.

Before in 2010 I got an offer from Polish studio Platige Image. I worked full time for them till 2014. I have learned a lot during this great experience. I had the pleasure to work on game cinematics and tv for projects like: Vikings season 2 promo, The Witcher 2, The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk2077

My first full time job was in 2001. To progress from hobby to professional work I had to learn a lot, mostly from books that were very hard to get in 90s Poland, there was not internet tutorials back then. Heaving discussions on computer graphics forums and by just experimenting was a big part of it as well. I worked as a digital artist for games in small studio in my hometown. Later for many years I used to work as a freelancer for games, advertising, animation and 3d print for clients around the world (off site ). At that time, I gained a lot of general experience as a digital artist.

Before my passion to computer graphics I was drawing with pencil mostly. As a kid I draw comic books, pictures of monsters and dragons. My family had many artists, my father was a great painter and musician ( please see his website http://www.piotrmarek.com/pio/ ), my grandfather was a sculpting artist, my grandmother was an conservation artist.

Except from professional work I participated in many computer graphic contests on cgtalk.com . In 2008 and 2009 I won 2 contest with first place and one in 2005 as a 4th runner up,I won a computer/software prizes that helped me to achieve better contracts and made my name visible for potential clients at that time. My work was also published in Expose 7 album and many magazines including Photoshop. After hours in free time I’m experimenting with new techniques and software.
